After Krishna's birth, the gods and goddesses from the celestial realm descended upon Earth to pay their respects to the divine child. Lord Shani, being a significant planetary deity, also wanted to catch a glimpse of the newborn Krishna.
However, Krishna's parents, Vasudeva and Devaki, were apprehensive about Shani's visit. They knew that Shani's gaze could bring misfortune and challenges, and they wanted to protect their child from any potential harm.
To avoid Shani's gaze, Vasudeva and Devaki placed Krishna in a basket and kept him hidden. Meanwhile, they placed a substitute, a doll made of butter, in Krishna's bed.
